Behind the universe

Is there a God in heaven is is the human race a breed of super-intelligent animals that evolved from the beginning of life? Is it feasible that life in the universe started with a big bang? If truth be told, when we look around us, it quickly becomes obvious that there must be a greater being behind the universe.
